Duck, Duck, Goose

I took a few photos at a park in Amarillo a few days ago.  I had stopped there on a whim as I was running a few errands. For some reason ducks and geese have been scarce at Meredith for the last several weeks.  I saw more waterfowl here and at McGee Lake just northeast of Amarillo than I have seen at Meredith in a while.  McGee Lake is on private property so I couldn’t get close enough for photos, but there were hundreds of Canada and Cackling geese, mallards, gulls, Northern Pintails, a couple of Northern Harriers and several Red-tailed  Hawks and a Bald Eagle.

Here’s some of the photos from the park.

Domestic hybrid Mallards, also known as Manky Mallards.  The one closest to the camera looks like it could be a cross with a Northern Shoveler.
