There’s been an influx of birds arriving for the summer these last two weeks, as well as a few migrants passing through.
Scissor-tailed Flycatchers arrived last week,
followed by Ash-throated Flyucatchers this week.
Northern Mockingbirds are supposed to be year-round residents in the area, but I’ve never seen them in the winter. In the last 2 weeks they have arrived in droves.
An Eared Grebe joined the Pied-billed Grebes that have been at Spring Canyon.
A Vesper Sparrow passing through.
As was this Franklin’s Gull.
Blue-gray Gnatcatchers also summer here. This one was at McBride Canyon in Potter County. They are twitchy little things and hard to photograph, so I was pretty happy with these shots.
