I got off work this morning after a surprisingly easy 72 hours and decided to make the hour and 15 minute drive south to Palo Duro State Park. I hadn’t been down in the park since my Daughter’s wedding back in November and it was a pretty nice morning for January in the Texas Panhandle (didn’t even get below freezing last night.) I was able to get a lot of good photos at the blind behind the gift shop and then hiked around for a while. I’ll post some of the photographs over the next few days but I was pretty excited to share these pics of a Gray Catbird. It’s not the first time I’ve seen the bird down in the canyon, but they are migrants and it’s pretty unusual to see then this late (or early, depends on how you look at it) in the year.
