Rose-breasted Grosbeak

Here’s another new lifer for me that I saw on our Missouri trip. Rose-breasted Grosbeaks are in the same family as cardinals and buntings, a rather colorful family of Passeriformes or perching birds. We have Painted Buntings here in the summer as well as Blue Grosbeaks. Black-headed Grosbeaks are fall and spring migrants through the panhandle, and I even saw a Evening Grosbeak at my feeders once, but I’ve never seen a RBGR here.Rose-breasted Grosbeak (5) (1024x723)Rose-breasted Grosbeak (7) (1024x647)Rose-breasted Grosbeak (3) (1024x684)
