It’s getting pretty late in the year for pelicans in the panhandle, but there are still a dozen or so out at the lake. I photographed these last week. The reddish-brown stains on the feathers are from the very muddy Canadian River that empties into Meredith right near where they are staying.
Same for Ring-billed Gulls
Pied-billed Grebes are year-round residents, however.
