Here’s another photo from my hike at McBride Canyon last week. This is a Red-tailed Hawk that was trying to see me as I tried to photograph him. I later saw him on another branch that had a better vantage point for both of us.

I was out at Spring Canyon in time to catch the sunrise one morning last week and was rewarded with gorgeous light on this Cackling Goose, a smaller relatie of the Canada (not Canadian) Goose.
Here are some photos of a Brown Thrasher I saw this morning at Palo Duro Canyon. Thrashers are in the same family (mimidae) as mockingbirds and catbirds and like them have a wide variety of songs.
