Bald Eagle

Bald Eagles have been pretty scarce around Lake Meredith the last few years. I’ve not seen one out there this year at all and only had a couple of sightings last year, whereas a few years ago I counted a dozen or more adults and juveniles every day between November and May. I suppose it has something to do with the lake level-it’s a lot fuller now than then and the ease of scavenging when it was so low, but I don’t know.

This 1st year juvenile was finishing up breakfast at Palo Duro Reservoir one morning last week.bald-eagle-juvenile-2-1024x684 bald-eagle-juvenile-3-1024x684
