Cactus Wren

A friend and fellow birder found these Cactus Wrens on Plum Creek Road in southwestern Moore County. I went out there this morning after I got off work and managed to find them, thanks to his excellent directions. Cactus Wrens aren’t normally found in the area and actually, until my friend reported them on Saturday, none had ever been reported in Moore County (none have ever been reported in Hutchinson County, either.) I had never seen one before so I was eager to add it to my life list.

You can see the nest in the Cholla Cactus as well.

Bonus: This Curve-billed Thrasher was foraging in the Cholla Cactus as well.
